Thugs are the portly gentlemen you steal throwing knives from they hit pretty hard, so you'll want to avoid them if you need to beat someone down. Note that attacking a civilian with your fists won't cause the guards to come running (which is handy when you're trying to perform an Interrogation mission), but any nearby thugs will stop to join in the fisticuffs. You don't have a lot of combat abilities while using your fists you can choose to grab enemies and throw them to the ground, or punch them in the face, but that's about it. Your fists are the tools you'll use to beat on thugs and otherwise cause mayhem without killing anyone. You have five main weapons available to you in Assassin's Creed, each with different abilities tied to it.

It builds on the combat systems of the Prince of Persia games and melds them with next-gen graphics and a taut style of acrobatic, open-ended gameplay for a game that's quite a bit of fun to play. Of course, it shouldn't be implied that Assassin's Creed is coming out of nowhere it is, after all, developed by the massively talented Ubisoft Montreal studio, creators of the Splinter Cell and updated Prince of Persia games. While games like Halo 3 are expected to garner their share of the headlines, Ubisoft has done a great job of keeping Assassin's Creed in front of gamers during the run-up to its release, whether by its secrecy about the game's sci-fi storyline, its long-time silence on whether or not it would appear on the Xbox 360, or by the somewhat controversial decision to set the game in real cities of the Middle East during the Crusades, an era of history that has interesting lessons for today's world. Haruyasu was a skilled Weaponsmith, and proficient in wielding a sword in battle.Few nonsequel games are the subject of as much hype as Assassin's Creed has been. He was also an easily excitable person, becoming very eager to execute Tomaru, but had a temper as well, yelling at Hideyoshi for his mistake in exposing his location. Haruyasu constantly admired his work as a Weaponsmith, and at the same time was very loyal to his lord, obeying any order from Nobunaga or even Nobutada. This allowed Katsumasa to approach him, and assassinate him, ending his life. Haruyasu angered by this, scolds Hideyoshi for his mistake, then orders the guards to find the Assassins.ĭuring the search, Hideyoshi gets distracted by Nitemare with a loud bang, prompting Hideyoshi to find the source, leaving Haruyasu by himself. When the equipment is destroyed, Haruyasu and Hideyoshi arrived to find the residence completely in flames. Katsumasa hurried his way to the Residence in order to destroy his equipment, and burn down the Residence. Hideyoshi accidentally blurted out the location of the residence, while a guard noticed the two men, alerting the entire camp. While the meeting is taking place, Katsumasa, now an Assassin alongside ally Nitemare, eavesdrops on the meeting, in order to find Haruyasu's residence. Haruyasu arrived at midnight to Hideyoshi's Camp, in order to discuss what happened at Chugoku. The note also read that he must head for Chugoku at once, to meet with Hideyoshi Hashiba as soon as possible. Haruyasu was surprised to hear about this, for he was supposed to be on guard duty in Mikawa. The note read that Shigeharu died at Chugoku, and Nobuyasu was found dead in his cell. When Haruyasu executed Tomaru, Katsumasa lunged at him, to which Shigeharu Takenaka ordered him and his soldiers to lower their weapons, distracting Haruyasu long enough for Katsumasa to escape.Īs Haruyasu is seen making a katana at his home, a Messenger gives a note from Nobunaga Oda.
